Hindus around the country & world today start the celebration of the birth of Lord Krishna.
It’s also known as Krishna Janmashtami (Janamastami) which always falls within mid August to mid September.
Starting today Hindus will be praying in temples for the next 8 days in the evenings.
The Rasa Lila (Ras - lila) recreates the flirtatious aspects of Krishna's youthful days, where teams of young men celebrate the God's playful and mischievous side, as they form human pyramids to reach a high hanging pot of butter and break it.
